Content marketing continues to be one of the most valuable tools to modern marketers. And while we live and die by the fact that content is king, we must also recognize the value of multimedia in an effective content marketing strategy.
Today, we are excited to be able to share with our readers a recent conversation we had with Joe Witte, VP of Business Development and Marketing for ISEBOX, a leading multimedia content distribution platform. In the following Q&A, Joe shares his expertise on why modern marketers should be utilizing multimedia and why tools like ISEBOX can help them achieve goals they never thought possible.
Tell us a little about your role at ISEBOX.
I am the VP of Marketing and Business Development at ISEBOX. I’m tasked with both getting the word out about our company, as well as leading the sales and partnership efforts in the US.
Tell us a little bit about the ISEBOX platform. Why do marketers need to be aware of this tool?
The current buzz in the marketing world is content generation. And content generation has shifted from text (for SEO) and expanded to include photos, infographics and video. These latter three are powerful for telling stories and generating buzz, but still present challenges as it relates to sharing internally, with event attendees and getting multimedia content out to the press.
ISEBOX solves this challenge by providing a cloud based platform that allows our clients to disseminate content that can not only be viewed, but also downloaded. And we even take that further by providing users with analytics surrounding their content. For example, we are able to show our clients where their embedded video is located, how many views it has received, as well as who has downloaded their content.
How does ISEBOX compare with other cloud-based storage solutions such as Dropbox?
Dropbox is a brilliant tool to organize and share files. But it’s not the best tool when it comes to viewing photos and videos and downloading them. These multimedia files have special considerations including device, browsers, latency, HD quality, transcoding and mobile responsive content that have to be addressed. ISEBOX solves all of these challenges.
In your opinion, why is content, particularly multimedia content so valuable to marketers and their content marketing strategies?
Marketers have recognized that they can connect with their clients and prospects more effectively if they can communicate 1-to-1 with them (via social) and also connect on a deeper level that touches them emotionally. A good way to do that is with a photo. A better way is with an infographic. And the best way, is with a video. These tools help tell stories and hopefully create connections. And if timing is right, could go viral.
Is there any particular campaign or client work that you’re particularly proud of?
Wow, we have many campaigns that we are very excited about. Recently we supported Lotus Motorcycles which used ISEBOX to release information about their new superbike. Within 2 days we had more than 10k page views and more than 1,000 pieces of content downloaded globally.
Another great story I like to share is that an event partner of ours, BOLO, used ISEBOX. They had around 200 attendees an event. Within 3 months we had more than 6,000 video plays of the presentations. This really illustrates a point I make to our event partners that the event doesn’t have to end when the day is over. Great content is being generated and it can continue being used with the proper technology.
Lastly, a classic for us is our work with Adidas for the London Olympics. Stella McCartney designed the British Olympic team uniforms and by leveraging ISEBOX, they had the story picked up by Elle Magazine and could trace the video they created to their blog which received thousands of views.
What are you looking forward to most at the Mid-Atlantic Marketing Summit?
I’m always eager to learn by listening, as well as network and collaborate with industry leaders. Nothing replaces old fashioned human interaction.
